QUALIFICATIONS QUERY

I have had quite a few emails recently from budding hypnotherapists/NLPers asking about where to do their qualifications.... so here's my answer

HYPNOTHERAPY/HYPNOSIS

HMI (Hypnosis Motivation Institute) is not only nationally accredited in USA, it is also one of the oldest accredited colleges in Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy. The Kappasinian style is taught primarily but their curriculum covers so many aspects of not only the business but ALL the theories that you would be hard pushed to find a better course. What you end up with is an incredibly broad knowledge that is usable in practice, from which you can specialise later. The tutors are accessible and regular contact (even internationally by phone - they pay the phone costs!) is a godsend when doing assignments. They offer video lectures, online learning testing as well as written assignments and personal tutorials - (Great tutor - Shelley Halpern). I wish I could have done all my hypnotherapy classes with them - but time and location often dictates otherwise. I can't recommend them highly enough.

NLP

Whatever you do, don't do NLP by correspondence. Whilst it is reasonably easy to learn many things online or at home, NLP is not one of them. It is a hands-on learning subject. Don't be suckered into NLP distance courses and when you learn - make sure it is with a small group - not hundreds in one room.

I learned NLP with Dynamic Mind Works in Sydney, Australia. All students were vetted prior to training to make sure NLP was congruent with them and their needs and the training was intensive, powerful and life changing. My trainer, Robb Whitewood was incredible to learn from and the after-course contact available was a great help especially when I was just starting out. This particular course was worth every cent and actually a bit cheaper than many others around. If you want your mind to explode and your whole life to turn around ... go and work with Robb and learn from him......I'm planning to go back in 2008 to do my Master Practitioner Course with the same company.....

EFT

Qualified through Patricia Callaghan's programme and learned through Gary Craig's Training Resources - nothing like practice to improve... USE IT ON EVERYTHING... this is quick and easy to learn and effective in use.. ADVANCED levels take a bit more time and I find the metaphysical side helpful now.

PLR

Qualified through the American Hypnosis Association. Fab tutor - Michele Guzy (also of HMI). Be very careful with this skill. Make sure you are learning from a reputable organisation or source as the ramifications of not guiding the client correctly are huge! I was very happy with the course AND the contact from Michele Guzy after studying too.
